a life in art:

AVA JEAN

Born in the heart of New York City, Ava Jean  was destined for the stage. The daughter of a Radio City Rockette, Ava's childhood was filled with the rhythm of dance and a natural inclination for storytelling. Her earliest memories revolve around creating impromptu plays and musicals for the neighborhood kids, a pastime that evolved into penning full-fledged musicals by middle school. Dance became an integral part of Ava's life under the mentorship of Chet Walker, a renowned figure in the world of jazz dance. Inspired by Walker's work with Bob Fosse, Ava found herself drawn to the fluidity and expressiveness of jazz, a contrast to the structured technique of ballet.

Her dance journey was further enriched by training with Amanda Edge of the New York City Ballet and Brad Parquette of the Jeoffry Ballet. Ava's first taste of professional dancing came at just 10 years old with The Carolina Snowbelles, eventually leading to a dream-come-true performance at The Kennedy Center.

Ava's passion for the arts was not limited to dance. At 14, she landed her first acting role in the pilot "Childish," marking the beginning of an exciting acting career. Her performance in "1300 Miles to Broadway," directed by Kenny Ortega and alongside Kristin Chenoweth, proved a turning point. Here, Ava showcased her talent as a triple threat, acting, singing, and dancing with equal flair.

music | writing

With a music style rooted in memory and preservation, Ava's skills as a singer-songwriter are as impressive as her acting and dancing. Having released her first single, "Social Game," in 2022, she continues to share her unique musical voice with the world.

Ava's knack for storytelling didn't stop at the stage or in song. She has authored articles, screenplays, and musicals, the most notable being a movie musical she has been passionately crafting. Her first published work, an article titled "Pandemication," chronicled her experiences during the global pandemic.

growth

Ava's collaborations with industry greats like Kenny Ortega, Kristin Chenoweth, Alex Paunovic, and Sean Astin, among others, attest to her talent and dedication. Currently pursuing a degree in Business Mathematics from Purdue while simultaneously growing her career, Ava is a testament to hard work and perseverance.
